[ b1260 ] Scarce US civil war era bowie knife Liberty and Union

Description

Scarce US civil war era bowie knife, Possibly a gamblers knife or a Dandys, but may well have been carried by a well to do soldier, Liberty and Union motto to the silver cross guard both sides, US Eagle, shield & stars to the pommel, 2 slabs of MOP form the middle of the hilt, One grip is a little bit loose & a tiny slither of the MOP is missing along the edge, not noticed when knife is lying flat, knife has its sheath which is in fairly rough condition, the silver tip is missing from the bottom & its opened up a little at the seams on the very tip .Makers name is present but some of it is hidden by the guard, I will get a good light & a glass onto it , the only clear part I can read at present is the last name HILL. as with most items i am open to an offer on it
