[ s547 ] ww2 Japanese officer sword Gunto

ww2 Japanese officer sword Gunto, unsigned blade, rusty tang but i see no mei or arsenal stamps so its possibly a gendaito blade, The handle has not been off this sword since before the war, i have wiped the tang with some oil as it was very rusty.
The blade has the usual staining but no nicks or chips, there are some marks on the blade where some clown has mucked with it a little at some point in time, hamon can be seen most places along the blade, If you took the time with utchico powder & oil the blade would clean up a hell of a lot, the fittings are all good but the scabbard hanger is missing its hanger ring, I will possibly have one here to suit that i will include if you remiond me to check at time of purchase.
Blade is over 26 inches, pretty well the standard gunto length,
If you just wanted a representation of a ww2 Officers Gunto without spending a small fortune this is a pretty reasonably buy
