[ s400 ] French short sword Hunting sword

Description

French short sword / Hunting sword, nice piece circa early to mid 1700s, VIV LE ROI motto on the ricasso "long live the king" I cant quite make out the wording on the other side,
Blade is has patches of pitting & staining & is also a bit dark towards the tip end, it may clean up a little if you wished to attempt it, I personally would leave it as found.
The silver cross guard is loose & has movement, possibly an easy fix but again I wouldn't muck with it, the sword displays nicely as it is.
The previous owner had the leather replaced on the scabbard, I did get the original tatty broken leather scabbard with it & will include it with the sword, the silver mounts on the leather are the originals.
Nice timber grip in great condition, made from dark timer, most likely Ebony
