am24 nice antique Leather shield Turkish Ottoman, large shield ,it measures half a meter across (50 cm ) roughly, nice engraved bosses to the front & a carved design in the centre, both the rear handles are present but are broken, the velvet covered cushion is still intact but you can see by the wear this shield was carried for a long time, 2 small holes in the shield, probably not original , my guess is they were put there by someone to hang it on a wall but I may be wrong ? this is a very nice piece worthy of any collection of arms & armour, I was in 2 minds as to sell this, if it doesn't sell quite quickly I will put into my own collection as i really like this piece
