Today the 21/5/22 Ian Skennerton has inspected & verified this is 100% a very scarce proposed Commando Bayonet ww2 shortened 1928 Lithgow, made at the Lithgow factory
In the book British & Commonwealth bayonets a very similar example to this is on page 289, a proposed commando bayonet, they set the OA length at 298mm whereas this one is a little longer at 315mm,
"Some were cut down to 8-inch blades as the Owen Mk I/I bayonet.
