Beautiful 1915 Lithgow smle 303 rifle- this is in fantastic condition, This is a very nice rifle - it has 2 different numbers on the action, one is the same number as is on the stock, the other number below is what I presume to be the 2nd number ,it is the same number that is on the nose cone, bolt is not matching either of those numbers , barrel is not numbered but is a replaced barrel, looks like the date is 49, front sight has its original? cover, action has canvas cover, rifle is in a war time canvas bag no3 or no 4 ?- the rifle is exactly how it looked the day I bought it, This rifle was actually sold to a mate of mine for 2k & he has since lost his licence so I purchased it from him for 2k, I am not making a cent out of it , its far from the perfect matching numbered collectors example but its a very very nice condition rifle with all the goods bits like the volleys / cut off plate / action cover/site protector & canvas bag which is probably for a no 4 ? would shoot like a dream (I have not fired it nor had my mate & being a mismatched bolt I would have it checked by an armourer before firing it) I am not a guru on the 303s sorry, I just bought them over the years because I like them.
I will happily swap my rifles & all my parts for swords / bayonets & militaria of interest as I no longer want the firearms.
naturally a lic is required to purchase & standard procedure applies to purchase- you the buyer need my details to apply for a PTA, Once its through we meet at a local gun shop & do the transfer or I take it to my local dealer & he puts it on his books & then transfers it to your closest dealer-you then get PTA to acquire it from the dealer-- buyer is responsible for all costs relating to transfer/shipping etc.
DUE TO THE NATURE OF PTAS ETC ETC ALL RIFLE SALES ARE FINAL-I URGE YOU TO INSPECT IN PERSON OR HAVE A TRUSTED LISENCED FRIEND IN MY AREA INSPECT ON YOUR BEHALF. HAPPY TO ANSWER ANY QUESTIONS I CAN & DO MORE IMAGES IF NEEDED.
