ww2 Japanese officers sword mu mei Gendaito 27 inch cutting edge blade, sword has a Nice hamon with a bit of wild activity in places. old polish could do with a light touch up but can be enjoyed as is,The blade is much nicer in person compared to the images,, the odd light stain & the usual scratches, No flaws, some of the light stains appear to be old grease or oil, they will clean off without a lot of effort, good binding & fittings, scabbard is the scarcer aluminium type , these scabbards nearly always have no paint left on them, it fell off quickly on 90% of them but occasionally you find one with most of the paint intact.
blade is unsigned & has no stamps anywhere. Its a better than average overall example of a traditionally hand forged katana in ww2 gunto mounts.
